Discontinued Instrument Identification

This page is intended to assist in the identification of older products in the Polaron range still supported by Quorum Technologies. Please contact us for further information on these products and their replacements. If your instrument is not shown here we may still be able to assist.

We like to hear from users of our older instrumentation. E5000 Sputter Coater.
The original Polaron sputter coater. Discontinued circa 1987 the E5000 was the first commercially successful SEM sputter coater. Note: pre-dates "Cool" (magnetron) sputtering head and therefore tends to heat samples more than modern instruments. Uses 57mm disc targets

PS3 Sputter Coater
A small chamber version of the E5000. Discontinued circa 1988

E5100 "Cool" Sputter Coater
Pioneering annular head sputter coater. The first SEM coater with a "Cool" magnetic deflection head. Replaced by SC510 circa 1988. Chamber is 155mm (6" ID and uses a 82mm OD annular target.
