PP2000/PP2000T Sample Holders and Specimen Mounting

A variety of sample stubs are available (see ordering Information). The standard copper or aluminium stubs can be modified by the customer to suit most requirements. We offer two sizes of slotted stubs, a stub for clamping freeze fracture rivet and a special stub for clamping flat samples. Silver tubes are available for handling liquids. Sample stubs are clamped into the copper dovetail shuttle. The shuttle can then be screwed on to the transfer rod. Solid samples are generally 'glued' on to the stub using a simple Tissue-Tek and colloidal carbon mixture or with double-sided carbon tabs. Other holders can usually be tailor made to suitable specific sample requirements. |
